Detailed project

NB: this form is filled entirely by the ones submitting the innovation.

What is the issue addressed?

Monitoring biodiversity across the tree of life at scale.

How is the problem solved?

Developed an air-sampling solution to autonomously collect DNA traces from the air and preserve if for molecular analysis. The sampler is designed to be the building block for a global sampling network.

What is the customer target?

Governments as well as all large businesses who will have to monitor their impact on biodiversity (Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework)

How is this solution different?

The few existing environmental DNA (eDNA) companies perform manual sampling (hinders scalability) and mostly focus on eDNA from water. Remote sensing is extremely scalable but can only observe from the top and only capturing a fraction of biodiversity (mostly large plants)
